December Pick 3 Pinterest Party

Pick 3 Pinterest Party

I am linking up with some great bloggers to share 3 Pinterest ideas I am planning on doing this month in my classroom. There are so many activities that can be done in the classroom in December. It was hard to pick only 3. I teach 4th grade this year so I wanted to do something for older kids.

I love this idea of reindeer portraits! I enjoy going to those painting parties and seeing how different all of our paintings are. I think the kids will enjoy following the easy directions and seeing how different each of their reindeer will be.

This is a fun way to study adjectives during Christmas. Everyone loves the Grinch. After they are done they write a story about their day with the Grinch. Can’t wait to try this!

Brain breaks are a necessity this time of the year. Rachel from Minds in Bloom has some great ideas for helping with getting through Christmas. I really love the Reindeer Game brain break. I will definitely have to try these ideas out the next couple of weeks.

I hope you found some great ideas. Make sure to check out all the other great blogs.

Pick 3 Pinterest Linky- February

I am linking up  again with the great ladies from PAWSitively Teaching and The Inspired Owl for  Pick 3 Pinterest Linky.

Pick 3 Header Graphic FebruaryI will be sharing 3 Pinterest picks that look like a lot of fun to do in the month of February. There are so many celebrations in February that it is hard to pick only 3 Pinterest finds.

February 1Of course the most popular holiday is Valentine’s Day so, I had to share a fun find. My students love to do crafts. This Valentine heart craft looks challenging and fun. I definitely want to try this one.

February 2The next fun holiday that I like to celebrate with my class is Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year. This year it will be celebrated on February 19th. We have a large population of Vietnamese students at our school. I think it is always important to teach the other students about the culture. I found these fun Chinese Drums for the kids to make. I know they will enjoy making them. I just hope I don’t regret all the noise!

February 3Mardi Gras is another fun holiday I like to teach my students. Madi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is celebrated this year on February 17th. I found this beautiful Mardi Gras Mask art. It looks a little tough but, I think most of my kids should be able to do it.

Pick 3 Pinterest Linky- January

I am linking up  again with the great ladies from PAWSitively Teaching and The Inspired Owl for  Pick 3 Pinterest Linky.

Pick 3 Graphics-January (2)I will be sharing 3 Pinterest picks that I want to do this year in my classroom for the month of January.

Slide1 (3)This Snowflake Catching Activity looks so cute. I think my 3rd graders will enjoy this craft. Afterwards I will have the kids write a story about catching a snowflake. We don’t get snow here but, I think the kids would still love doing this activity.

Slide2 (3)This next activity would be great to do on a cold day in January. You can read the story The Biggest Best Snowman and then do an anchor chart with the characters, setting, and summary of the story. I might have my students do it own their own on a piece of white construction paper. They will enjoy drawing the snowman.

Slide3 (3)The last activity has to involve the Superbowl. My 3rd grade boys are so into football. Unfortunately our home team, The Texans, won’t be there but we can still celebrate it. There are several activities that my class can do from this Pinterest link. First they can make their own jersey. I have a feeling that most of them will be Texans colors. There is also a fun football glyph that we can do afterwards. We don’t get to do a lot of fun crafts but, I am going to try to make some time to do more of these during this cold month.

I love when I can incorporate a great book with writing and a fun activity.

I love this adorable snow globe activity. It has a great story to read along with it, “The Snow Globe Family“. After making the snow globes with plates and paint, then they write a story. They use the prompt- If I lived in a snow globe… Such a great idea!

So the last day before Christmas break is always a tough one even though it is a half day. This is a great game to play with the kids before our class party.

I try to do fun crafts at Christmas time because we don’t really get much of a chance to do crafts with our busy timeline.
