I am loving being in Kentucky visiting my family. We come every year at this time. It is bittersweet because, I know it means the summer is almost over. My favorite memories  as a child are playing with my cousins. It is so nice to see my daughter playing with her cousins like I used to. Know we get to watch our children play together like we did.

I am sad that my husband couldn’t get off work to come. He really loves coming up to this part of the country. I am lucky to have my parents come with me so I can get a little break from my 2-year-old.

In the back of my mind I am thinking about what I need to be doing in my classroom. We can’t get into our classroom until the 12th. So I will be extremely busy that week until we start back on the 19th.

My back to school must haves  are   1. Monster Clipart- I have loved using Scrapping Doodles and Creative Clips. I used their clipart to make all make back to school monster printables. If you want to see how  some of them turned out check out my Monster Themed blog post.

2. New clothes- I have always looked forward to back to school shopping. The tax-free weekend for Texas is coming up soon so, I will be looking for the sales!

3. Smelly stickers- I always have to have smelly stickers for my kids. I try to buy enough at the beginning of the year to last until June. One year a kid in my class would always get A’s on his spelling tests and his mom asked what changed from 1st grade. He said he liked the smelly stickers I put on his paper. How funny! So I  go to Lakeshore and stock up at the beginning of the year.

What are some your back to school must haves?
